MARMITE ON TOAST

February 25, 2009

The puppies celebrated their six week birthday yesterday by having a play in the garden and leaving me little puddle presents all over the floor.

If you know of a very loving home that would pamper my babies, then let me know! I don’t want to let any of them go, but I think I may look just a little mad walking 8 dogs every day. OK, so I probably look a little mad anyway, but it definitely wouldn’t help.

Marmite and Toast enjoying a play in the grass. They are so quick now it is getting much harder to photograph them unless they are asleep!

And little Beans asleep on Colin’s lap at the end of a long day. I think he may have inherited his mothers big ears.

James Pearson: You are killing me with these cute photographs! (Love the title too) I'd love to take one, but we've got enough with a Labrador and our first baby on the way!

Courtney: AAAAWWWW!! So cute!!! It makes me want to just put them in my pocket!! :)

Karen: I love the puppy posts! How on earth will you let them go??

Jen Page: These are so lovely....just invited you to an event in Wetherby - if you can make it, can I come and see the puppies afterwards please if you still have them!!!!

When Rachael announced that Gareth had proposed to her, I knew the wedding would be gorgeous and that they would make the perfect couple. Five years and two little bundles of joy later, and they now also make the perfect family. Makes you sick doesn’t it?!

Rachael is also a brilliant wedding co-ordinator, she has has a couple of years out to have her family, but will soon be back in full force. Brides, watch this space!

WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHY ALBUMS

February 18, 2009

It’s a great feeling when you package a wedding album up, put it carefully in it’s box, and take it off to the Post Office. It must be very exciting when the package arrives, bursting full of memories with photographs from your wonderful wedding day.

I thought long and hard before choosing suppliers for my wedding albums, as it is so important to offer the very best quality, beautiful designs, without anything gimmicky that will look awful in a few years time. They may be expensive, but they are worth it. Every one is handmade to order, so that each couple know that their wedding album is completely unique, and has been made just for them.

My page designs are always simple and classic, and hopefully timeless. I want the couple to be able to proudly show their albums off to their children and grandchildren, and join in as they laugh at the hairstyles and funny frocks worn all those years ago (which may well be back in fashion anytime soon!), but the album itself will hopefully still showcase the photographs beautifully, the quality leather cover having stood the test of time, the photographs looking as fresh as the day they left the lab, and the page layouts daring anyone to laugh at them.

Today I had great pleasure in posting off two Seldex Albums to two very happily married couples. Seldex Albums are one of two types of album we supply (the other being a Wedding Book), and they offer couples a beautiful twist on a traditional design, showcasing their photographs perfectly. The contrasting core (white on a black page and vise versa) of the pages makes the photographs jump out and command your attention and respect, as if they are shouting ‘look at me’!

James Pearson: I completely agree with your principles of album style and design. The examples in your photos above are wonderful; your lucky clients will really treasure these!

PUPPY VALENTINE

February 14, 2009

Today, my heart is with just one man. He may have sticky out ears, be rather short in stature, have very scratchy whiskers and never take the bins out, but I love him still.

Oh, my dear Beans, how am I going to part with you when the time comes?

img_5055

He asked for a little Valentines shoot to show off his new, rather appropriate, jumper. Actually he borrowed it from a teddy, but he can pretend it’s his for now. It was a perfect fit after all. Isn’t he getting good at posing?

And then, after all that hard work and puppy milk, he conked out for a well deserved rest.

Happy Valentines everyone!

When my friend sent me a message saying she was struggling to find a great venue for her wedding, it gave me an idea. It can be SO hard to find the perfect place to get married, so I’m going to try to help.

What better place to start than Goldsborough Hall? I have a love affair with the place, and have to admit that I am more than a little biased…it is the venue Colin and I chose for our reception in July 2007. It just ticked all the boxes, you have the whole place to yourself on the wedding day which makes you feel like the King (and Queen) of the castle, there are three wonderful rooms and a huge, manicured garden for guests to roam about in, the bedrooms have to been seen to be believed, and the owners, Mark and Clare, couldn’t be nicer. What more could you need?

Goldsborough Hall

Goldsborough Hall 2

These are a couple of my all time favourites from Lindsey and Gary’s wedding in October 2008. Goldsborough Hall is just perfect for a wedding photographer, there are so many great places to photograph in:

And another favourite photograph from Caroline and Andrews wedding, also in October 2008. I just couldn’t get enough of the place in October!

Just to finish off, and because there isn’t yet a photo of me anywhere on the blog (which I hear is a faux pas, but I don’t believe it) here is one of Colin and I on our wedding day, thanks to my good friend Steve

Kim: Rebecca, I thought I'd check your blog again because I love your work. I love this post. What a beautiful place. I can see why you love it. Those images are awesome. My fav is the one of the couple in front of the large window. Amazing work!

Say hello to Beans. Beans has won a special place in our hearts as he is the underdog (literally). He wasn’t growing very fast and as his brothers and sisters got fatter and fatter, he lost weight. With the help of some puppy SMA he is now back on track and holding his place at the milk bar!
