Georgina and Johnathan are the type of people you feel instantly comfortable with. They are friendly, down to earth, funny, and a perfect match for each other, so their wedding was wonderful to photograph.
Their wedding reception was held at Wood Hall, one of my favourite venues in Yorkshire to photograph at!
Allyson and John looked forward excitedly to their wedding day, and at last it came. Blue skies and lovely light came with it, it was one of the nicest day’s I have ever seen up in moody Wensleydale. They married in Aysgarth Church, and had their reception at the beautiful Simonstone Hall.
I truly think Rebecca smiled the whole day, she has an amazing grin and I didn’t see it leave her face. Just looking at these photos makes me smile back, in remembarance of what great fun Rebecca and Ben are.
Rebecca and Ben had their wedding reception at one of my all time favourite venues, Goldsborough Hall.
Married!
Rebecca’s very talented Mum made this cake FROM SCRATCH! And no, she isn’t a cake designer!
Anne and Matthew chose one of the windiest days I can remember to get married, but the wedding went smoothly despite it, and Anne’s veil managed to stay in remarkably well!! Anne got ready in the gorgeous penthouse suite at The White Bear in Masham, and after a church wedding Anne and Matthew returned for their reception.
We did most of the couple shots inside due to the wind, but then we just had to go outside for a dramatic windy veil shot. This one is Kylie’s and I love it, it’s shows what great fun Anne and Matthew are and her hair shows how windy it was!
To see more of their wedding, there is a slideshow and an online gallery. Their password is their new surname, all in lowercase letters.
Anne and Matthew, I hope you had an amazing honeymoon! Your wedding was a pleasure to photograph x
I was thrilled when Rebecca and Edward’s beautiful wedding at The Star Inn Harome was chosen to be a featured wedding in the Wedding and Lifestyle show guide. Rebecca and Edward had gorgeous weather for their wedding last September, and both of them looked stunning!
Last week, a group of photographers who met through the [b] school and the Randall Photography Network, went to Blackpool for a work outing (as we all work for ourselves we don’t usually get work days out)! We stayed the night so we could enjoy the Blackpool hospitality to the full ;-)
The agenda was loosely adhered to as we all excitedly discussed albums, marketing, websites etc etc, over very cheap wine that was all we seemed to be able to find. It was a photography geeks dream.
After the afternoon’s chat, we headed out to the beach for a bit of a play with our cameras.
These are from Barnaby’s blog, the first one is of Barnaby himself, one third of the trio that makes up 3b media. The other two are Rob Booker and Phil Barber.
Sarah and Chris had a gorgeous, intimate and rustic wedding ceremony and reception at the York Maze. I hadn’t photographed a wedding there before, but I was glad they asked me to! It’s full of rustic charm, they married in a barn with their own handmade bunting hanging from the ceiling (even Chris was chained to the sewing machine for a while!). PapaKata have a permanent Tipi set up which is perfect for a wedding, I just love photographing weddings in PapaKata tipi’s!
Sarah and Chris had made the entrance to York Maze really pretty and personal:
Luckily the animals stayed out of the way for the wedding, but I couldn’t resist taking their photograph!
Inside the PapaKata Tipi:
A sweetie station, I love them!
Sarah and Chris made their own photobooth with props, what a great idea:
….you guessed it, I am a wedding and portrait photographer. I’m a big fan of weddings and all things pretty, and I’m also a converted baby and child fan as well – I’m a new mum. When I’m not behind a camera you’re likely to find me at home with Isabella and my three dogs Biscuit, Twix and Crumbs – or escaping to the stables or even the pub which can be a bit of a rarity these days (I’m a not-so-secret country bumpkin). To fit in with being a Mum I’m now working from an office at home instead of Newby Hall – which gives me more time to bake! Please email me to arrange an appointment if you’d like to sample some cakes and have a chat about your wedding in more detail, or if you’d like to book a family portrait. If you’re looking for a friendly, easy going (usually!) photographer/free cakes/a trip to the country you are in the right place.
Big thanks to the lovely Cris Matthews for this photo.
After chatting to a bride to be this week about her wedding this year at The Star in North Yorkshire, I realised that Caroline and Erik’s wedding had never made it to the blog. What a travesty! Packed full of wonderful details, their intimate, stylish wedding should not be kept on a back up disk, […]
Meeting Jenny was one proof that six degrees of separation do exist, or at least that some things must be meant to be. I was about to go on maternity leave when I fist got an email from her – she was currently living in London with her fiance Charlie and was trying to balance […]
Time flies by so fast, it’s hard to believe that I first photographed Sam as a three month old baby a year ago. He’s now walking and into everything, keeping his Mum and Grandma on their toes! His Mum brought him over for his third and final portrait from his ‘Watch Them Grow’ series on […]
Merry Christmas everyone, I hope you all have a wonderful Christmas and New Year. All of my family are descending on Friday so it will be chaotic, busy and lovely, just how it should be! I’m looking forward to Isabella’s first Christmas, my little Santa baby looks gorgeous in her Christmas dressing gown! ArrayArrayArrayArrayArrayArrayArrayArrayArrayArrayAr […]
Now those who know me will know that I’m a bit of a baking fanatic, and that I like things to look nice, and I don’t mind that it might take ages to get things right – but it must be right. I stumbled upon Pinterest when I was researching things for Isabella’s christening, and […]
Jamie and Joel got married on one of the really hot days of the year (yes, honestly, they did exist) at the very lovely Fountains Abbey, which thankfully was relatively cool in the old ceremony room, although I was very glad I didn’t have to wear a suit. The boys did look very dapper in […]
Emily and Dan cleverly choose a beautiful October day for their wedding at The Mansion in Leeds, the light was just stunning. I urge you all to get married in the Autumn! Their wedding was seriously nice – Emily and Dan couldn’t have looked happier, and had paid a lot of attention to detail too. […]
All those of you that came to my Newby Hall office will know what an amazing place Newby Hall is, and what a wonderful place it is to work. I LOVED being based there, but after having Isabella I came to realise that a baby and a 20 minute drive to work wasn’t going to […]
I know, I know. I’ve been awful at blogging since Isabella was born. OK, so I do kinda have an excuse – babies take up more time than you knew you had. She is sat on my lap right now just about to demand something or other. However I do have to admit to being […]
