PAPAKATA TIPI WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHY | SALLY AND MIKE: MARRIED

Thursday, October 21st, 2010

Sally and Mike wanted a laid back, fun wedding with a party atmosphere, and so chose to have PapaKata do their magic and put up tipis at Sally’s parent’s house. Sally and her mum worked hard to decorate them, and they looked amazing! They followed a simple green and white colour scheme, and added in fun details such as gnomes and chicken salt and pepper pots, which created an amazing looking setting for a wedding reception!

These cupcakes were from NOT from Marks and Spencers as I previously wrote by mistake, they were actually handmade by Sally’s friend Sarah McDowell. Amazing work!

CRAB AND LOBSTER WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHY | TONI AND GWYN:MARRIED

Tuesday, October 19th, 2010

Toni chose The Crab and Lobster for her wedding venue without Gywn even seeing it; she just knew it was perfect and Gwyn knew to trust her (sensible man!). It’s a quirky, unusual venue perfect for an intimate and personal wedding, and fantastic for wedding photographs! It’s also just 10 minutes from both my studio and home, all of which combined make it one of my favourite venues.

There is a slideshow and an online gallery if you’d like to see more. The password for the gallery is their new surname.

GOLDSBOROUGH HALL WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHY | ANNETTE AND ROB: MARRIED

Monday, September 27th, 2010

Annette and Rob chose a lovely day for their wedding at Goldsborough Hall, which looked amazing with the bright blue late August skies and lovely light.

Gorgeous flowers with an unusual touch by the lovely Joanna from Twisted Willow:

Rob and Annette married at Goldsborough Church, which has it’s own private path from Goldsborough Hall. Very convenient!

There were lots of laughs all round from the very funny speeches:

PORTRAIT PHOTOGRAPHY NEWBY HALL YORKSHIRE | SUE, ELLIE AND ANGUS

Thursday, September 16th, 2010

Sue, Ellie and Angus were great fun to photograph. They came to Newby Hall and we went outside into the grounds to capture some relaxed and natural portraits, with Angus chattering all the way through! They were very obliging and very photogenic, the perfect family!

Look at their gorgeous blue eyes and curly hair:

Their main final product is a montage for Sue’s office, looking a lot like the one below. A square frame with nine images is a perfect way of presenting a collection, and means you can have the best of both worlds with your favourite photographs included:

HIPPING HALL WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHY | MELANIE AND JOSEPH: MARRIED

Monday, September 13th, 2010

Mel and Joseph wanted a completely laid back, untraditional wedding that they could celebrate with their 5 sons, family and friends. They chose the wonderful Hipping Hall in Cumbria as their venue, which was perfect. A beautiful, rambling country house hotel, it set the scene for their wedding perfectly.

Joseph’s special wedding socks! Joseph and Mel helped each other get ready, and had chosen Mel’s dress together, so there were no surprises.

Whilst Mel finished having her hair and make up done, the guests arrived and were treated to high tea complete with strawberry sandwiches and Pimms.

A pretty cheese cake!

Joseph and Mel’s invitations were amazing! Designed as a bespoke piece of art by Amy Tan of Tree Space Studio in America, they were mini booklets that opened out to reveal a beautifully painted scene showing the chapters of Mel and Joseph’s lives:

The RSVPs were pieces of jigsaw, that when put together revealed the whole scene:

Joseph and Mel walked down the aisle together:

A wonderful caricaturist was the focus of attention for much of the day, drawing flattering but funny portraits of each guest…..

……which were definitely a big hit!

Mel and Joseph, I loved photographing your wedding and will look forward to designing your album soon! x

THE HOSPITIUM YORK WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHY | ALISON AND RICHARD: MARRIED

Wednesday, September 8th, 2010

Russel Brand has a joke about puppies being so cute you want to squeeze them until they squeak – and that’s how I feel about Alison and Rich. They are just so lovely in every way! Luckily being professional stopped me squeezing them, I might have seemed a bit odd to say the least.

Alison and Rich were married at St. Wilfred’s in the centre of York by a lovely priest who is also a longstanding family friend, and went on the the gorgeous Hospitium York for their reception.

Alison made a stunning bride:

Someone was pretty excited about being a flowergirl!

I loved the relaxed and pretty flower arrangements by Jo at Blooming Occasions

Ali and Sid, I hope you had the most amazing honeymoon ever! x

I just knew Alyson and Matt’s wedding would be stunning. They had their intimate, personal wedding ceremony and reception at the stunning Star of Harome, a Michelin starred restaurant and hotel just outside Helmsley.

Without further ado, Aly and Matt’s wedding:

GOLDSBOROUGH HALL WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHER | CLAIRE & PETER: MARRIED

Thursday, September 2nd, 2010

There are some things I’d change about my wedding if I got married again, not much, but I would pick a different florist for example. I would definitely not pick a different venue though. Goldsborough Hall is still one of my very favourite venues, and I’d choose it every time. So in my opinion Claire and Peter made a very good choice!

Beautiful flowers by Lynda Moss:

Claire had kept her dress a secret from her bridesmaids, and this is her entrance in THE DRESS!

It was pretty gorgeous……

The vicar at Goldsborough Church is lovely. His friend Bertie the Bear made an appearance after a special request from Claire:

THE MANSION LEEDS WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHY | SALLY AND DAN: MARRIED

Monday, August 23rd, 2010

Sally and Dan choose the stunning newly refurbished The Mansion in Leeds for their wedding and reception, and I’m sure they were glad they did. Now that Dine have got their hands on it, The Mansion is a truly stunning venue, with gorgeous decor and set in Roundhay Park, with views overlooking the lake and the parkland.

Sally’s lovely shoes:

Their little pageboy was very proud of his football cufflinks!

Jan from Just Jasmine did an amazing job with the flowers. Sally’s bouquet was unusual and very pretty:

Sally and Dan paid attention to all the details:

YORKSHIRE WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHER | CLAIRE AND GARETH: MARRIED

Wednesday, August 18th, 2010

Claire and Gareth are one of those couples who are instantly likeable – I challenge anyone not to love them straight away! Claire’s enthusiasm for the wedding shone through, no detail was left unturned with the result that their wedding was stunning and packed full of thoughtful, personal touches. Claire and Gareth married at The Old Swan in Harrogate, in a lovely, sunlit room.

Claire told me at the engagement shoot that she wasn’t photogenic. I disagree!

Claire is something of a golf whizz, she won a scholarship to America and went to University there. Gareth waited patiently (or maybe not so patiently!), and his girl eventually came home. Claire’s Mum gave her these personalised golf shoes as a wedding present, in the wedding colours:

I love the purple shoes and socks!

This is Claire’s Grandmother and Grandfather’s wedding album. Gorgeous!

Claire and Gareth included photographs of parents and grandparents on their wedding days, a lovely personal touch and a great way of including family members who are no longer with us, or unable to make the wedding.

Claire and Gareth are not big fans of cake, but love cheesecake! 4 family members made different cheesecakes to make up their completely unique and very unusual wedding cake:

To see more of Claire and Gareth’s wedding, you can see a wedding photography slideshow of their wedding highlights, and all of their photographs are in an online gallery. Their password is their new surname.

Claire and Gareth, I hope you enjoy these photographs, I know you’ve been waiting impatiently! x
