RIPON CATHEDRAL AND THE OLD DEANERY WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHY | JULIA AND DAVID

Wednesday, January 9th, 2013

After weeks of rain in epic proportions, Julia and David woke up to cold December sunshine on their wedding day, which is about the best you could expect.

I don’t need to say much more – Julia looked utterly stunning, and well, you can’t beat a handsome man in uniform can you :-)

YORKSHIRE WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHER | MARK AND HANNAH: MARRIED

Thursday, October 11th, 2012

Hannah and Mark had a dreamy country marquee wedding, with tons of bunting and plenty of home made elderflower cordial, not to mention afternoon tea and a whole tree inside the marquee. Add stunning weather and lovely, glowy Autumn light, and you have a photographers ideal wedding. I don’t think it gets much better than that!

Dress: Limelight

GOLDSBOROUGH HALL WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHY | CATHERINE AND DAVID: MARRIED

Thursday, August 16th, 2012

Catherine and David’s stunning wedding at Goldsborough Hall, North Yorkshire.  I adore Catherine’s Jenny Packham dress!

YORKSHIRE WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHER | CAMILLA AND CHARLIE : MARRIED

Tuesday, May 1st, 2012

Camilla and Charlie had the most amazing wedding in North Yorkshire, with a simple white colour scheme and love that was visible everywhere.  They looked so happy all day long – and it shows.

The gorgeous flowers are by Gilly Guthrie and Alison Consett.

If you’d like to see more, they have a wedding photography slideshow, and if you were a guest at the wedding you can view their online photography gallery (there are over 400 images so make a cup of tea!).  The password is Camilla and Charlie’s married surname.

GOLDSBOROUGH HALL WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHY | TORI AND JAMES

Thursday, April 12th, 2012

Tori and James got married in a lovely North Yorkshire country church last summer, and somehow I never blogged their lovely cow themed wedding. Yes that’s right, cow theme ;-) James is a cattle farmer, so Tori’s inspiration stemmed from that. There were little cow references everywhere, from Tori’s slippers whilst she was getting ready (see if you can spot them), to the little cow charm favours, and of course the cake.

The reception was at the ever gorgeous private stately home Goldsborough Hall, a personal favourite as I had my reception there nearly 5 years ago, although it feels more like just a year or two.

The flowers were by Lucy MacNicoll – very pretty and summery with the most lovely peonies. I think they have to be my favourite flower. Ever.

ENGAGEMENT PHOTOGRAPHY YORKSHIRE | LAURA AND ANDY

Tuesday, March 20th, 2012

My sister Laura and her obliging boyfriend Andy kindly agreed to be my models for half an hour or so, to try out the area around my new home office in the North Yorkshire countryside. Actually I have been here a year next month, but I had a new baby and time flies so I have an excuse (that’s my story and I’m sticking to it). We moved to Flawith from the next village about two miles away, so it’s not like the countryside isn’t familiar, but I had been used to using the grounds of Newby Hall for engagement shoots so I wasn’t sure how it would work out doing the sessions from here instead. I’m pretty lucky to live in a very pretty area, and just down the road is a bridleway, so there’s are plenty of places for lovely portraits as my models will show you. Just down the road is a lovely gastro-pub as well, so we could always go for a G&T or lunch afterwards ;-)

I have a few gorgeous couples coming here for engagement sessions this year, so should have more to post in a month or two.

I just hope Andy doesn’t kill me for posting these. Luckily he lives about 2 hours away so at least I’ll have a head start.

WINDERMERE LAKE DISTRICT WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHER | CLAIRE AND RYAN : MARRIED

Tuesday, February 14th, 2012

Claire and Ryan got married at the Low Wood Hotel in Windermere last May, on a blustery but sunny day (see evidence below!).  The wedding had a distinctly Audrey Hepburn feel, from the bridesmaids dresses and accessories, to the fantastic favours – a postbox red Chanel lipstick for each female guest.  One of my favourite favours yet!

Claire and Ryan are expecting their first baby next month, and I’m hoping to get to meet him/her sometime soon!

ALDWARK MANOR WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHY | JUDITH AND STEVEN

Wednesday, February 1st, 2012

I present to you Steve and Jude’s lovely wedding at Aldwark Manor, which is just a couple of miles from my house.  Jude put in a lot of effort to pull off this stunning winter wedding in just a matter of weeks – it goes to show it can be done, it doesn’t have to take years to plan a wedding!

Judith got ready in a lovely light, posh suite overlooking the golf course:

Aldwark Church is very pretty and walking distance from Aldwark Manor, plus I know the vicar well, so all in all it’s a top church!

Judith works in jewellery – can you tell?!

The room was staged by Angel Events in Harrogate, and looked breathtaking.  A winter wonderland greeted the guests as they entered the wedding breakfast room, complete with real fir trees (if trees are good enough for Kate Middleton…)

WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHY THE STAR INN YORKSHIRE | CAROLINE AND ERIK

Friday, January 20th, 2012

After chatting to a bride to be this week about her wedding this year at The Star in North Yorkshire, I realised that Caroline and Erik’s wedding had never made it to the blog. What a travesty! Packed full of wonderful details, their intimate, stylish wedding should not be kept on a back up disk, and so here it is.

Caroline is a twin, she and her sister are very close and did each others make up on the wedding morning.

Handsome….

but still his usual self!  Erik was a great fun with a rather wicked sense of humour.

Just look at Caroline’s outfit.  Fab!

That dress was made for dancing.

Did I mention Erik was a little wicked?  Well he even had to have his own, colourful cake.  He didn’t fancy totally fitting in with Caroline’s careful colour scheme ;-)

That’s all folks.  I’m very glad I realised the error and got round to posting this wedding, it’s one of my favourites.

WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHER YORK | JENNY AND CHARLIE:ENGAGED

Tuesday, January 10th, 2012

Meeting Jenny was one proof that six degrees of separation do exist, or at least that some things must be meant to be. I was about to go on maternity leave when I fist got an email from her – she was currently living in London with her fiance Charlie and was trying to balance wedding planning with a hectic work schedule. I arranged to meet Jenny’s parents to chat about photography, and in doing so it transpired that I was about to move next door to them in a few weeks time. Thankfully the booking went ahead or future meetings may have been awkward ;-)

I didn’t have far to go for their engagement session, just a few steps over the fence. Their wedding at Newburgh Priory complete with a horse and carriage will soon be on the blog, but for now, here are the gorgeous couple strutting their stuff next door.

A silly one!
