WINDERMERE LAKE DISTRICT WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHER | CLAIRE AND RYAN : MARRIED

Tuesday, February 14th, 2012

Claire and Ryan got married at the Low Wood Hotel in Windermere last May, on a blustery but sunny day (see evidence below!).  The wedding had a distinctly Audrey Hepburn feel, from the bridesmaids dresses and accessories, to the fantastic favours – a postbox red Chanel lipstick for each female guest.  One of my favourite favours yet!

Claire and Ryan are expecting their first baby next month, and I’m hoping to get to meet him/her sometime soon!

ALDWARK MANOR WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHY | JUDITH AND STEVEN

Wednesday, February 1st, 2012

I present to you Steve and Jude’s lovely wedding at Aldwark Manor, which is just a couple of miles from my house.  Jude put in a lot of effort to pull off this stunning winter wedding in just a matter of weeks – it goes to show it can be done, it doesn’t have to take years to plan a wedding!

Judith got ready in a lovely light, posh suite overlooking the golf course:

Aldwark Church is very pretty and walking distance from Aldwark Manor, plus I know the vicar well, so all in all it’s a top church!

Judith works in jewellery – can you tell?!

The room was staged by Angel Events in Harrogate, and looked breathtaking.  A winter wonderland greeted the guests as they entered the wedding breakfast room, complete with real fir trees (if trees are good enough for Kate Middleton…)

WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHY THE STAR INN YORKSHIRE | CAROLINE AND ERIK

Friday, January 20th, 2012

After chatting to a bride to be this week about her wedding this year at The Star in North Yorkshire, I realised that Caroline and Erik’s wedding had never made it to the blog. What a travesty! Packed full of wonderful details, their intimate, stylish wedding should not be kept on a back up disk, and so here it is.

Caroline is a twin, she and her sister are very close and did each others make up on the wedding morning.

Handsome….

but still his usual self!  Erik was a great fun with a rather wicked sense of humour.

Just look at Caroline’s outfit.  Fab!

That dress was made for dancing.

Did I mention Erik was a little wicked?  Well he even had to have his own, colourful cake.  He didn’t fancy totally fitting in with Caroline’s careful colour scheme ;-)

That’s all folks.  I’m very glad I realised the error and got round to posting this wedding, it’s one of my favourites.

WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHER YORK | JENNY AND CHARLIE:ENGAGED

Tuesday, January 10th, 2012

Meeting Jenny was one proof that six degrees of separation do exist, or at least that some things must be meant to be. I was about to go on maternity leave when I fist got an email from her – she was currently living in London with her fiance Charlie and was trying to balance wedding planning with a hectic work schedule. I arranged to meet Jenny’s parents to chat about photography, and in doing so it transpired that I was about to move next door to them in a few weeks time. Thankfully the booking went ahead or future meetings may have been awkward ;-)

I didn’t have far to go for their engagement session, just a few steps over the fence. Their wedding at Newburgh Priory complete with a horse and carriage will soon be on the blog, but for now, here are the gorgeous couple strutting their stuff next door.

A silly one!

FOUNTAINS ABBEY CIVIL PARTNERSHIP | JAMIE AND JOEL

Thursday, November 17th, 2011

Jamie and Joel got married on one of the really hot days of the year (yes, honestly, they did exist) at the very lovely Fountains Abbey, which thankfully was relatively cool in the old ceremony room, although I was very glad I didn’t have to wear a suit. The boys did look very dapper in their Saville Row numbers though.

I have to confess I was just a teeny bit nervous as well as excited when Jamie asked me if I’d photograph his wedding – it was the first gay wedding I had been asked to photograph and I wondered what I would need to do differently. Well as it turned out…nothing! Having a girl and a boy or a boy and a boy makes little difference (although there was much mirth when a little visitor to Fountains Abbey walked past the couple and asked his mum ‘where’s the bride?’!).  The feelings, the love, the guests and the champagne were no different at all, and I have to say I really really enjoyed being a part of Jamie and Joel’s day, which was very relaxed and incredibly friendly.  So roll up civil partnerships, I’m ready and waiting.

Jamie and Joel decided to walk down the aisle together.  How happy do they look!

THE MANSION LEEDS WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHY: EMILY AND DAN

Friday, November 11th, 2011

Emily and Dan cleverly choose a beautiful October day for their wedding at The Mansion in Leeds, the light was just stunning. I urge you all to get married in the Autumn!  Their wedding was seriously nice – Emily and Dan couldn’t have looked happier, and had paid a lot of attention to detail too.  What more could you ask for?

The AMAZING flowers are by the lovely Susie at Hart Company

YORKSHIRE WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHER | TORY AND JAMES: ENGAGED

Friday, December 17th, 2010

Tory and James are getting married next year at the gorgeous Goldsborough Hall, and so came over for their engagement session just as the snow was melting away – the roads here have been so icy it’s been hard to get anywhere without a tractor. I’m a big fan of the snow, it coats everything with a glittery, pretty topping and makes even boring things look nice.

Tory and James don’t need anything to make them look nice though – they manage that all on their own! Just to add a bit of festiveness though, it’s snowing on my blog ;-)

DODMOOR HOUSE WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHY | LAUREN AND JAMES: MARRIED

Monday, December 13th, 2010

I went to school with James, what seems like not that long ago. We stayed in touch via Facebook, and when he asked me about wedding photography about a year ago I was really pleased. It was really lovely to catch up with him and get to know the lovely Lauren, (he’s done rather well for himself ;-) ), and I loved seeing so many familiar faces at the wedding. It really felt like I’d seen everyone a few weeks rather than a few years ago.

Lauren and James got married at the lovely Dodmoor House, which is very informal and gorgeous barn conversion in Northamptonshire. They had a very intimate, small legal ceremony first, with just their Mum’s as witnesses (and me!), and then we had time for some photographs before the other guests arrived for the blessing and exchange of rings. The blessing was conducted by Lauren’s sister which made it very personal and lovely.

The gorgeous flowers were by Manic Botanic:

Lauren’s shoes were gorgeous – this girl is all about the details which I love!

First look just before the ceremony:

Aren’t they gorgeous!

Lauren requested some more staged, managed groups rather than just a line up. It worked really well and everyone co-operated nicely! There are some more examples in the slideshow.

In the evening the guests were all given sparklers and made a sparkler walkway for Lauren and James to walk through, a great way to enter the dancefloor for your first dance!

To see more there is a slideshow of highlights and their online gallery with all the photographs. The password is their surname.

P.S. I’m feeling festive, so it’s snowing on my blog!

SALLY AND MIKE’S PAPAKATA WEDDING FEATURED ON BELLEAMOUR BLOG

Friday, November 26th, 2010

Sally and Mike’s lovely Papakata was featured on the Belle Amour blog this week. Sally and her Mum put in a lot of effort to make the wedding beautiful and personal, and it was a pleasure to photograph. Papakata weddings are always great fun, unusual, and the teepee’s always look amazing. Sally and Mike’s wedding had a natural green and ivory colour scheme and a relaxed, country feel – complete with gnome candles on the tables!

Here is part one of the post, and part two.

Thanks to Debs for the lovely write up and the very inspiring blog!
